Reviews and Ratings
The hotel rooms were a bit 'tired' looking and needed some updates, but the internal balcony was a pleasant touch. The standard rooms were not consistent with the lobby, featuring locked rooms, strangely placed TV, and dirty shower cubicles, without a bath, but had a very comfy king bed. The service was very helpful and accommodating, meeting our needs efficiently. The location was central and convenient, especially for those visiting the CBD with easy access to the free tram. The dining experience did not meet expectations but was included in the fare. The facilities were generally well-maintained.
The hotel is situated in an amazing spot near Southern Cross station, with a view down onto it. The rooms, while clean and comfortable, lack soundproofing, causing disturbances. The service, especially for New Year's Eve, was exceptional but the location could use a refurbishment to match a 5-star status. The dining experience was delicious and generous, located down the stairs in the main atrium.
Arriving at the hotel today was like stepping into luxury with a wonderful atmosphere. The comfortable bed and some of the best pillows ever made for a great night's sleep. However, the room was a bit shabby and dirty, which was disappointing. The staff were attentive, friendly, and helpful, but at times, the room became too warm and claustrophobic.
I chose this hotel mainly for its brilliant location, close to everything Melbourne has to offer. The rooms are in decent size and very cozy but had not been serviced when we returned at 3 pm. The Nespresso machine in the room was a nice touch, and the customer service, particularly at the buffet breakfast, was amazing. However, the hotel needs serious updating to meet the standards of other 5-star establishments. The close proximity to the free tram stop on Good Friday was a bonus.
My stay at the hotel was a mixed experience. The rooms seemed empty and poorly laid out but were quiet and a good size for two adults. However, facing a central courtyard was a nice touch instead of facing the road. A King Room would have been great!
